Whether we are planning a day trekking or we are preparing a multi-day hike, we must know that inside Los Glaciares National Park there are some camping sites that we can use if necessary.
There are currently 4 campsites: 3 of them are located within the Los Glaciares NP Trunk Network and the other one is a little farther away and therefore requires prior registration.
These camps are aggressive, do not have any type of service, are totally free and do not require prior reservation. So, we have to consider exactly what we are going to carry (See: How to pack a backpack for long treks and hikes) and what kind of food we are going to carry for our trek.
It is also important to note that there are no trash cans, so all waste we generate must be returned to the village. What we will have at our disposal are toilets, both for daytime use and for those who are going to spend the night inside the campsites.
In the image you can see the location of the campsites inside Los Glaciares National Park – Northern Zone. The routes are detailed below:
Through the following link you can access the interactive view of the campsites (Google Earth), we recommend opening it from a PC or notebook: Google Earth | Campsites in El Chaltén.
